Marvel Studios’ advertising team has been on the ball this past week! Following the release of the first official poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Robert Downey Jr. tweeted the first official character poster featuring Iron Man.
The week continued on with Marvel releasing character posters for every known Avenger. Click here to see the full lineup of heroes!
To top it all off, the third and FINAL trailer for Age of Ultron was released Wednesday! Spoiler: it looks fantastic Check it out!
Unlike the approach I took with the Star Wars teaser, I feel like breaking this down in terms of all the cool things we see. Why? Because I’m a nerd. That’s why.
-Nice to see Ultron sitting on a throne in reference to his comic book incarnations. Right off the bat, cinematography is on point. Look at this beautiful shot.
-“Hope. I’ll take that from them first.” This is probably the most intimidating line I’ve heard spoken from a Marvel villain. I have a feeling Ultron is going to be a fantastic villain.
-Early on, we see and hear fragments from the clip Marvel used at their press conference to tease Civil War. It’s extra effective over personal shots of the Avengers.
-This may seem like an odd thing to point out, but I’m glad we’ve had several movies to get to know Black Widow before she was given a noticeable love interest. It makes this whole Bruce/Natasha thing seem less forced…for now.
-This is such a cheesy shot but I’m going to let it slide because my inner five-year-old thinks it’s the coolest thing in the world. This is how I want my friends to enter a room. Also, think that guy on the far right is seriously regretting his life choices yet?
-So, like…can we ditch the Tesseract as a plot point yet?
-And here we have Captain America, chipper as ever at the end of the world.
-If you haven’t figured out from this trailer yet, do not mess with Black Widow.
-This fight between the Hulk and Iron Man in the Hulkbuster suit is going to be NUTS…if we don’t see all of it in the trailers beforehand.
-Glad to know they didn’t completely drain the humor out of this movie.
-Hey, look! It’s that guy! I won’t reveal who that is, because it looks like they’re trying to make his presence somewhat of a surprise. After the last Avengers movie released half of its footage in YouTube clips, it’s nice to see Marvel leaving something to the imagination.
